Splagg knows that you care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy. By visiting the Splagg website, you are accepting the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers Splagg's treatment of personal information that Splagg gathers when you are on the Splagg website and when you use Splagg services.

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that Splagg does not own or control, or to individuals that Splagg does not employ or manage.

What Personal Information About Users Does Splagg Collect?

Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with a friendly, customised, and efficient experience. We only collect personal information that is relevant to the purpose of our website. We do not process this information in a way that is incompatible with the purpose for which it has been collected or subsequently authorised by you. We collect the following types of information from our users:

1. Information You Provide to Us:
We receive and store any information you enter on our website or provide to us in any other way. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of many of our special features. The personal information you provide is used for such purposes as:

• Registration: In order for you to use Splagg services, such as submitting new stories to the website, commenting and voting, you must complete a registration form. As part of this registration form, we require your email address and your name.

2. Automatic Information:

• We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. Splagg automatically receives and records certain "traffic data" on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, Splagg cookie information, and the page you requested. Splagg uses this traffic data to help diagnose problems with its servers, analyse trends and administer the website.

• Splagg may also add on any page display the total counts that page has been viewed. This may include member profile pages.

• Social sharing of data: Splagg allows other users to browse or search for stories, comments and forums that you have submitted. This information may be made available via your member profile (www.splagg.com/user), your friends' profile page ("my friends' posts"), the search pages, or within the permalink URL of the story in which you performed the action on. Splagg may choose to post this data on other site features in the future.

• Profile information: Splagg allows other users to browse your user profile. This page includes your Splagg display name (not your registered name), length of membership (provided automatically) and any other information you entered within your member profile. Your registered name and email address will not be visible in your user profile to visitors to this page. Additionally your registered name and email address will never be revealed unless you expressly choose to send messages from the Splagg site. This includes introducing friends to Splagg ("Invite"), forwarding stories or forums ("Email this story" or "Email this forum"), or sending a message via the Contact tab, when available, in another users profile. Any such messages WILL reveal your email address and registered name as the sender of the email, regardless of whether they are registered users of the Splagg site. Please ensure that you wish to identify yourself to any recipients.

• Syndication: Splagg allows for the RSS syndication of all of its public content within the website.

• Many companies offer programs that help you to visit websites anonymously. While Splagg will not be able to provide you with a personalised experience if we cannot recognise you, we want you to be aware that these programs are available.

What About Cookies?

• Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognise your browser and tell us how and when pages in our website are visited and by how many people. • Protection of Splagg and Others:
We may release personal information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with that law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Splagg, our employees, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
